BESPOKE TAILORING

The Bespoke Tailoring Experience

The bespoke tailoring journey at Peter Johnston is a meticulous and deeply personal process, beginning with a private consultation in which Peter takes time to understand each client’s lifestyle and requirements. Whether the commission is for a special occasion or a particular climate, every detail is considered.

Clients are then guided through a refined selection of the world’s finest cloths before Peter records a full set of measurements and notes each aspect of individual figuration. From these details, a unique paper pattern is drafted entirely by hand — the foundation of a perfectly balanced garment that is shaped exclusively to the wearer.

Once the pattern is complete, it is carefully laid onto the chosen cloth, hand-chalked, and cut with meticulous attention to matching checks, stripes, and the natural fall of the fabric. The first fitting allows Peter to assess the fit and to refine the garment’s balance, proportion, and silhouette. Any adjustments are precisely marked and incorporated before the garment proceeds to the next stage of hand-finishing.

After fitting alterations are complete, the garment is fully lined, pressed, and prepared for the final fitting — complete with hand-sewn buttonholes, buttons, and finishing details that reflect the hallmark of traditional British craftsmanship.

Each bespoke piece represents over 70 hours of dedicated workmanship, resulting in a uniquely personal sartorial masterpiece.

Prices begin at £4,400 for a fully hand-made two-piece suit, reflecting both the exceptional quality and value that define Peter Johnston Bespoke. Orders typically require 8 to 10 weeks from the initial appointment to completion.
