Peter takes time to understand each client’s requirements: the tailoring they wish to commission, the occasion it is for, and whether it will be worn in warmer or cooler climates. He then carefully guides you through cloth selection and takes all necessary measurements. This initial appointment is followed by a first fitting, a second fitting, and finally a collection appointment.
The initial appointment is an opportunity for clients to discuss their tailoring requirements and make styling and cloth decisions.

Measurements are taken and each client’s figuration carefully noted, from which a personalised paper pattern is drafted. Once this pattern is complete, it is laid onto the selected cloth, chalked in, and the cloth is cut by hand, with particular attention paid to matching any checks or stripes.
After each garment has been hand cut, the client will be invited to a further appointment for his fitting.

The fitting appointment is used to assess the fit of the pattern and allow Peter to refine the balance and proportion of the garment. Any alterations to the pattern and tailoring are noted, and any necessary re-cutting is specified. Once these adjustments are complete, the garments are lined and pressed, then prepared for buttoning and buttonholing, all of which are entirely handmade and hand-finished.
