BASIS OF SALE AND PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS
When you click on Submit at the checkout, you offer to buy the goods at the prices indicated including any delivery charges that apply to your purchase. All orders will be subject to these conditions.
If your order is accepted, you will be notified of this soon after you ‘submit’ your order.
A Contract between the customer and Peter Johnston for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted and confirmation e-mail sent. You will own the items we supply you from the moment they are put in the hands of the postal service, or with our carriers, or on full payment of the price of goods and any delivery charge, whichever is later.
The contract will be concluded in English.
We will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in our power to do so, to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the absence of negligence on our part we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data you provide when accessing or ordering from this Website.
PAYMENT AND TAXES
We accept online payment in a secure environment by credit card. All orders are processed via our payment processor, PROTX.com.
We currently accept Visa Credit Card, MasterCard, Visa Debit Card, Maestro, American Express. All transactions are shown in £ Sterling.
All prices quoted on this website are accurate at the time of publication and are quoted in pounds sterling (£) and where appropriate are inclusive of UK sales tax (VAT) at the current rate. The current rate of VAT is 17.5%.
When shopping on this site if you choose to change currency from pounds sterling, the currency amounts shown are based on the daily exchange rate. This is an approximate value based on the conversion from the chosen currency to the current exchange rate compared against GBP (UK) Sterling. The final transaction amount may differ slightly on your credit card statement based on your bank's conversion rate at the time of the transaction and if a charge is levied by the bank.
Shipments outside the European Union may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are the responsibility of the recipient. Please contact your local customs offices for more information.
PRICING
Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown on the Peter Johnston website are accurate at the time you place an order. In the event a Peter Johnston product is listed at an incorrect price due to technical error or error in pricing information, Peter Johnston shall have the right to refuse any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price.
DELIVERY CHARGES
UK - Orders being delivered to a UK mainland address will cost £5.00 delivery charge when the order total is less than £250. Orders placed that are £250 and over will be delivered free of charge.
EU - standard delivery £20.00. Please allow up to 10 days.
Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands & Islands - standard delivery £20.00. Please allow approximately 7 working days.
USA and Canada - standard delivery is £40.00.
Rest of the World - standard delivery is £40.00.
For non stock items we will contact you with a delivery date.
Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). Orders will be sent using Royal Mail recorded delivery or our nominated courier and will require a signature on receipt.
All deliveries will require a signature for security of delivery reasons. If the delivery service finds that nobody is available to sign then a card will be left for you to contact them to confirm new arrangements.
Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Bank Holidays are excluded as normal working days.
If you believe the order is late and you have not received a card from the delivery company, telephone us on 0131 225 4318 10.00am – 6.00pm Tuesday to Friday if you would like us to follow it up on your behalf .
All delivery prices shown are quoted in British pounds (GBP) and include VAT.
STOCK AVAILABILITY
We strive to ensure that we have adequate stock of all items and that stock levels shown on the website are current. Some items may, however, sell faster than we expect and although we will always try to get stock replenished, this is not always possible due to long lead-times required by some suppliers and the uniqueness of the products. We will provide the most up to date information we have on availability and will do our best to ensure you get the items you wish. Peter Johnston accepts no liability arising from our inability to supply goods due to lack of stock other than returning any payments which have been made by the customer.
YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
Cancellation notice: under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a statutory right to cancel your order and receive a full refund for any item , apart from items made to your specification. You may cancel your order by sending us a letter or e-mail cancellation at any time up to and including the seventh day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) counting from the day following delivery. If you exercise your statutory rights to cancel you must immediately return the unwanted items in perfect condition for re-sale.
Exceptions-
Product made to your specification is exempt from cancellation.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
RETURNS
We take every care to try and ensure that you are delighted with your Peter Johnston purchase, but if you find it unsuitable or are not entirely satisfied, provided you notify us in writing within 7 days and return it to us within 14 days of receipt of goods unused and in its original undamaged packaging and in perfect saleable condition , we will be happy to offer you an exchange or, at our option, a refund excluding the delivery charge. We will consider the overall condition of the product before we make a refund and please note that refunds can only be made to the cardholder. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Please ensure that product is packed and labeled carefully so that it is not damaged or lost in transit as the goods are at your risk until they are returned to us. Please note that goods are returned at your own cost and we highly recommend the use of a registered postal service for your protection.
Exceptions-
Product made to your specifications are exempt from Returns.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Sale Items
Items bought in our sale are non returnable or exchangeable. This is due to our need from time to time to clear out all old stock to make room for new stock arriving. This does not effect your statutory rights.
PRIVACY
There is certain information we need from you in order for you to place an order with Peter Johnston and for us to process your order, this is our Registration process. We will require your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number ,credit/debit card number and card start/expiry date . We ask you to supply your contact telephone number so that we may contact you if there is an urgent problem with your order. Unless you tell us otherwise, we may also supply this number to our couriers in case they may need to make contact with you about your delivery.
Your registration details are important and you are required to provide information about yourself that is true, accurate, current and complete in all respects. You agree to notify us immediately of any changes that are relevant to your registration by informing us at bespoke@peter-johnston.co.uk
We will not supply your details to any other company. The information supplied by you is only used to enable us to serve you better and may be used for a regular newsletter.
If at any time you are unsure about the personal information we are holding in your name, please contact us and we will review and update your records with you if required. We reserve the right to disclose your details to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests or requests by the police investigating suspected illegal activities, to operate our systems properly or to protect ourselves or other users.

Every care has been taken to ensure that all descriptions, measurements, colours and prices are correct at the time of going to press. Measurements given are approximate. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour reproduction, colour may vary in accordance the settings of your monitor, software, computer system or printer for which we cannot accept responsibility.
GENERAL
These conditions of sale and any contracts made under them are governed by Scottish law and you agree to submit any dispute to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. All orders are subject to these terms and conditions, and no amendments will be accepted by us.
This website and our Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.
While Peter Johnston takes all reasonable steps to ensure a fast and reliable service, it does not guarantee that your use of this website will be interruption or error free and will not be responsible for any disruption, loss of or corruption of any material in transit, or loss of or corruption of material or data when downloaded onto any computer system.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Liability of Peter Johnston in contract (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise, arising in connection with the performance of this contract shall be limited to the price paid for the goods. Under no circumstances shall Peter Johnston be liable for any form of indirect or consequential loss, costs or expenses as a result of this agreement or contract.
Peter Johnston will not be liable to you or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of its obligations in relation to the products ordered by you if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond its reasonable control.
